How to Turn Off Gmail 2-Step Verification (Desktop)<\/p>\n
If you have the Gmail account added to any version of Outlook as POP account, you need to enable two-step verification and then use an app password in Outlook. Update the password (using the app password) in File > Account Settings > Update password if the enter password dialog does not come up.<\/p>\n
Currently, you can turn off 2-Step Verification after it’s turned on automatically, but signing in with just a password makes your account much less secure. Soon, 2-Step Verification will be required for most Google Accounts.<\/p>\n
In order to use Gmail SMTP mail sending, you must log into your Google account settings under Security, enable 2FA then create an app password. That app password will be the password you use in your SMTP settings.<\/p>\n
